I had only written screenplays back then, and “Under Space” was my first attempt at prose. Looking back, it was a little rough, so I re-edited the story and created a new cover. Like many writers, I have a list of hundreds of half-baked ideas that I hope to one day turn into full-fledged stories. One such idea was kids on Halloween transforming into actual versions of their costumes. Last September, I decided to write it as a short story, hoping to finish in time for Halloween.

“Under Space” is a short science fiction story I wrote a few years ago. (My first attempt at prose after writing several screenplays.) The story takes place hundreds of years from now in an underwater colony. It’s written in the form of a series of journal entries by a young boy who lives on the colony.
